Meet the Doctor

Dr. Roger Schardijn

Dr. Roger Schardijn

Dr. Schardijn grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area.  Throughout life, he enjoyed, participated in and excelled at sports.  His childhood home was just seven blocks from the NFL San Francisco 49ers’ headquarters and training facility, so it was always an exciting experience for him to live in such a sports rich community and to interact with professional athletes.  Having observed a friend and colleague of his treat many of the high-profile 49ers of the 1980’s era, Dr. Schardijn knew that he too, wanted to pursue a career in chiropractic.

Dr. Schardijn primarily utilizes the Diversified technique, the most widely used type of chiropractic procedures.  This gentle spinal manipulation and adjustment technique can treat nearly every joint in the body.  In addition, he also incorporates lower force techniques such as drop-table technique, Impulse Adjusting and Activator instruments and a variety of rehabilitative exercises and stretches tailored to the needs of each individual.

Dr. Schardijn completed his undergraduate courses at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and later earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree from the prestigious Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1989.  Immediately after graduation, he enrolled in a post graduate program and earned an advanced credential in the diagnosis, treatment and management of sports injuries.

Dr. Schardijn practiced for nine years in the Bay Area before moving to Colorado in 1999 and has been serving the Denver Metro Region ever since.  Early on in his career, Dr. Schardijn was fortunate enough to work with a colleague on many professional wrestlers and horse jockeys.

Dr. Schardijn enjoys many hobbies such as woodworking, camping, fishing, aquarium as well as pond fishkeeping to name a few.  Other than chiropractic, his second greatest passion was for the martial arts.  He participated in and taught for 12 years and earned a 3rd Degree Black Belt in the venerable Martial Art of Shaolin Ch’uan Fa, a Kempo style.  Given his knowledge of body biomechanics and experiences with his patients, it was a tremendous asset in keeping himself and the students free of injury.

An experienced chiropractor, Dr. Schardijn has been in private practice since 1989.  He is a practitioner that has devoted his professional career to restoring optimum health, wellness and maximizing the body’s overall performance by addressing the root cause of conditions rather than just treating symptoms.
